Can you transport from Puerto Rico?

USPT moves prisoners through out the nation.  Additionally, USPT provides prisoner transports between the continental U.S. and Hawaii, Alaska, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

What is your Authority to transport?

U.S. Code title 18, section 3182 Extradition Act. Our officers’ are authorized to take custody, transport, and house prisoners en route to their destination.

Are you armed while transporting?


Yes, all of USPT officers are certified and licensed to carry firearms, in accordance to state law.

Do you drug test your employees?


Yes, a random drug-testing program consistent with Department of Transportation guidelines is used.

Do you offer training for your employees?

 
All employees undergo a transport officer training program conducted by USPT training officer.

Can any law enforcement agency use your service?


Yes, any official government agency. However, a contract can sometimes offer discounts.

Do you ever fly commercial airlines?

 Commercial airlines maybe required when it is not efficient to move the prisoner by ground.

Are all prisoners restrained?

All prisoners moved by USPT agents are moved in full restraints (waist chains, leg irons and handcuffs). We take appropriate security precautions; our fleet has professionally built cages with individual security cells that separate juveniles, males and females.
